Day 127/2

J has been getting cold feet, so yesterday we went looking for booties. We found only one pair which were fine but I was of the opinion that a button addition would be preferable, let's see!

Day 126/2

I'm so very thankful for the Blaise Estate and to live this close is such a joy! J and I walk there normally twice, but at least once a day and now that I'm pretty much recovered I can do proper walks, not just to the little house and back again. Today is Warren's day off, J has slept and fed brilliantly since last night and I have been very happy to be with them both all day. This was taken just now, when J and I showed daddy our new route.

Day 125/2

Every day, boring and mundane? I agree! A simple home day followed by enough time to watch Poldark (and weep, weep, weep!) and cut my fingernails. That's it really!

Day 124/2

J is 6 weeks old today!!! His aunty popped over with some celebratory balloons which are wrapped around his baby gym so he can have a good look at them.

Day 122/2

The birthday celebrations continued with Warren's friends today, so I didn't take many photos. But the bunting is still up because, as we all know, a birthday isn't a birthday without bunting!

Day 121/2

Today we had a family day celebrating Warren's birthday. Our lunch was made in search of a seriously yummy sandwich and yummy it was, although it required two hands so it didn't fall apart!
Happy birthday, man I love.

Day 120/2

Jenna texted to ask if we've been enjoying the sun. Perhaps the fact that we've just bought two sun hats for J answers that question?!

Day 118/2

I'm not driving yet, post c-section, so birthday card-buying is currently a little tricky. Out comes the sewing machine!

Day 117/2

As Warren was off today, we all went for our afternoon walk together. At the green space at the bottom of the hill, J woke up hungry, so we sat down on the grass for some milk and then J got to feel grass for the first time as we all lay on it together, looking up at the blossom. J loved it!
Family. Good, good gift. Thankful me.

Day 116/2

This afternoon, J and I did our first little bit of painting .... Delightful!

Day 115/2

I seem to spend a lot of time sorting washing and folding clothes. For a small person, J generates a lot of washing!

Day 114/2

Today hasn't gone quite to plan. And here I sit at 9pm eating an apple while I try and figure out my photo for 365...

Day 113/2

A little something arrived today, my new zebra-patterned phone cover. Thank you, Warren!

Day 112/2

Not for the first time this week, I've been awake since 4am. So, when J went down for his afternoon nap, I promptly crawled into bed too. Alas, J was not so keen to sleep as I was, therefore I broke the golden rules and brought him into our bed so we could rest together! Here he lies. Oh and the sheep on his vest reminds me that he actually bleats in his sleep from time to time! Continued scrumminess, I'd say.

Day 110/2

We popped to Ikea this morning, naturally we took a little detour via the restaurant for breakfast with  tea and hot chocolate.

Day 108/2

I'd really like to do some baby massage with J and so we've been looking for some lotion to put on his newborn skin. We even braved The Mall to do so, and left with samples, as you see...

Day 107/2

We just bought some windmills. I thought that J might enjoy looking at them through the patio door where he sits in his chair surveying the outside world.

Day 106/2

I have a lovely star-shaped plate which has been waiting to be re-painted; tonight I had a few minutes, so purple it is.

Day 105/2

Warren got home from work in time to join J and me for a walk. Into Blaise we went, through the fieldy bit, then back up the hill. (Yes, hill - check me out!) These grape hyacinths are growing on the wall outside someone's house looking lovely and, in the background, Warren waiting for me as I snap them.

Day 104/2

I was trying, ever so hard, to wake J up this morning but all to no avail! Mid-tickle, he fell asleep on my lap, then pulled his feet up like perfect frogs' legs!

Day 103/2

At 4 o'clock this morning, I heard murmurs from J; at 4.30 they were significantly louder, so J and I headed for his milk. Having had his fill, he was a little reluctant to co-operate with going back to bed. Partly because his mama a) was tired, b) was in pain and c) just wanted to snuggle with him, J and I curled up on the sofa. He slept most sweetly, but I was still awake when daddy emerged from his (very much needed) slumber at 6.40. So, I got up and then J wriggled into my space as you see!

Day 102/2

Warren was making lunch, when I looked at his watch on the table and again thought how much it looks like chain mail. I took a photo - ta dah! - and then Warren went to work shortly afterwards and it's been non-stop ever since! Pleased I took the photo then, because I'm still going!

Saturday, April 4, 2015

Day 101/2

Please overlook two feet photos in two days, but I'm so besotted with J's feet that I have to spend quite a lot of time every day just kissing them!

Friday, April 3, 2015

Day 100/2

I think this photo is sweet in its own right, but I should perhaps explain that J and his daddy were dancing...

Day 99/2

Warren's gone to bed, trying to catch up on some much-needed sleep before returning to work tomorrow. I'm sitting on the sofa (trying to stay awake!), taking photos of our changing mat; a new addition for our new addition.

Day 98/2

Due to my recent time in hospital, I've become (temporarily) wary of health care professionals. This has been a contributing factor to my midwife appointments not going brilliantly; I hardly shone, in fact, I'm pretty sure I started ticking their 'post-natal depression alert' boxes. Thankfully, we're all signed off from midwives - as J and I are doing really well - and so, it was the health visitor's turn today. She described me as "looking well and seeming positive" - success!
