Before she moved to Africa, my friend Amy and I were house mates. From time to time of a Sunday afternoon, we sat at the kitchen table to see what we could make. One time she started playing with Fimo and made a few people, which led to gifts for at least 3 of us! These became mine. Amz is still in Africa, letting her light shine. Happy birthday, Amz!!

Day 90
I lit this candle and thought, hmm, let's see if it brings me a photo. What's inside that newspaper, I hear you wondering? Hopefully, I can show you tomorrow...

Day 88
I rediscovered this top yesterday; it's hanging up in the hope that the creases will fall out, so I won't have to iron it!

Day 86
To celebrate F's 8th birthday, today we went to visit Castell Coch near Cardiff; F's 'fairy tale castle'. I'm not sure who was more excited about this day together, me or her! We visited all the rooms, took lots of photos and videos, stood on benches we were allowed to stand on and possibly one that we weren't... We walked in the woods and F slid down the railings over and over and over again. In the middle of all that railing-sliding, we found that there was a great section of rock at the base of the castle, in what would have been the moat, just asking to be climbed on. So, even though it was at least four times taller than me, off she went. Then, off I went too. I believe she wore this top especially today; I made it for her nativity gift last December. (It's quite nice to feature something that I've actually made, not just that I'm hoping to make!)
Thank you for your company today, precious one.

Day 85
Right. The petrol tank is full, the to do list is done, the wellies are out, the packed lunch is made, sunglasses are at the ready. Tomorrow must be a day for an adventure!

And the shadows flee away,
I will go my way to the mountain of myrrh

Day 83
I've hardly eaten anything today and I'm definitely in need of an energy zing, so I thought a blueberry smoothie would be the way forward. In fact, I'm drinking it right now!

Day 80
And here are my other Crocs... I was aiming to be in them but I found this photo while positioning them. It doesn't quite show them off at their best, but I really like this shot of their see-throughness.

Day 79
Having shown you this funky hearts fabric the other day, I started thinking about what I could do with it. Obviously, bunting! I had a fab idea for how to do it and this morning I pulled it out to start cutting. Thankfully, I remembered in time that, as it's directional, I'd waste half of it if I made bunting (because half the flags would feature upside-down hearts). But, I thought, a cushion! And here it is.

Day 78
Today I noticed one of our mum's new shoes which, naturally, led to a conversation about them. In the midst of which, she told me that she bought them at 20% off at the Crocs shop last night. Well, I left nursery at 5.15. By 6.15 I was the proud owner of 2 new pairs of Crocs - hurrah! (For those who don't know me personally, I injured my foot and Crocs soles have made it so much better that the problem has almost gone.)
(By the way, sorry Lou ... yes, it is another picture of my feet!)

Day 72
So on the one hand, I was sitting knitting, looked up, saw the rain clouds through the window and thought hmm, is that today's photo? On the other, without wanting to sound pretentious, it does communicate an element of how I feel. I'm not quite back to firing on all cylinders since being ill; I'm no longer unwell, but it completely washed me out and I'm still struggling a little. Certain pressures do seem to be looming; like the clouds, filling up and up and no one can tell quite when they will burst.

Day 69
I must say I'm feeling some blog pressure. Taking a photo every day is easy peasy, squeeze the lemon. Taking a good photo every day? That's a whole different matter. It can take a very long time and some days, I just don't have the necessary time or energy - and the weather isn't always terribly helpful! BUT it's such a great feeling to get a good photo. I just wanted to acknowledge that there are days which lack sparkle and I'm sorry for that. One day I'll be skilled enough to take excellent photos - even on the less than sparkly days!

Day 68
I've just made my lunch and thought I'd share it with you! (Not literally, though, of course...)
I'm hoping for an afternoon on the lawn in the sunshine with babies today.

Just to acknowledge that today, as day 66, means that there are only (?!) 299 to go!!

Day 65
Don't ask me why, I just liked it! It's something to do with next door's house being visible behind the fence; out of focus but just peeking through.

Day 64
I am so tired! Back to work today ... I made it through, but am now slowly drifting towards oblivion - contact lenses out and lying down, so typing one-handed and unable to see. Not so easy!
In December we went to a glass workshop, here are my creations.

Day 63
This morning I started reading Rob Roy by Sir Walter Scott. I quite liked Mr Osbaldistone's comments on his son's letter: "... you have insuperable - I wish, by the way, you would write a more distinct current hand - draw a score through the top of your t's, and open the loops of your l's - insuperable objections to the arrangements which I have proposed to you. There is much more to the same effect, occupying four good pages of paper, which a little attention to perspicuity and distinctness of expression might have comprised within as many lines."
I thought I'd try my hand at a scored t and a loopy l. I took it outside and the wind came to play!
