Day 244

How serendipitous to be at work early enough to find acorns before my shift AND to have my camera with me at the same time!

Day 243

In the midst of a distinct lack of inspiration, I was offered some Crocs and a koala to photograph. Here they are!

Day 242

I was reading Hester earlier and came across this: "Hester was not touched by that reference to her little heart, which was not a little heart, but a great one, bounding wildly in her breast with perplexity and pain, as well as love, but ready for any heroic effort."

Day 241

I'm reading Oliphant's Hester and really enjoying it. Hester is young, defiant and proud. When she attends a ball she wears her mother's pearls which are considered gorgeous by all, controversial by some... "The pearls were beautiful, more beautiful than any other ornament in the room ... She flung higher her young head, which was proud with life and a sense of power unknown."

Day 238

Walking through the wet grass this autumn morning, I looked up and beheld the moon.

Day 237

Yes! I went for a swim today... the first for months. So, so good to be back!

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

Day 236

I've been hoping for some red leaf pictures, here are some I found when I went for a walk this morning.

Day 235

I carried the autumn theme to work with me and the babies totally embraced it! We've painted, stuck and coloured in leaves, I put them up on some string and 3 toddlers stood saying "Lea! Lea! Lea!" I was very excited too!

Day 234

A day bereft of inspiration, you might think, if she's photographing her recycling. You may be right.

Day 233

The National Photographic Portrait Prize is in town. (Has been for months, but with one week to go, I thought I should get my skates on!) I was captivated, struck dumb, disgusted, enraged, moved to tears.

Day 231

Felt pieces waiting to be sewn into owl-life ... or the beginnings of a Picasso...?!

Day 228

The darker evenings are drawing in; the fairy lights are on, the tea lights are lit.

Saturday, October 12, 2013

Day 226

Ta-dah! Another Great British Sewing Bee project completed. A silk-lined tie cushion. Hurrah!

Friday, October 11, 2013

Day 225

To continue the autumn theme ... a gorgeous chunky pine cone.

Day 224

My spotty cake tin. I suspect it was on sale because it is slightly bent; it's currently closing okay, but if it doesn't any more then it will probably just become a drum!

Day 223

I must confess, the rat race is getting me down. The seemingly pointless treadmill of day-to-day stuff. All I have to offer today, therefore, are my trusty feet!

Tuesday, October 8, 2013

Day 222

I wonder if a photo of my stash of body butter suggests a day lacking in inspiration ... ?

Monday, October 7, 2013

Day 221

I had some crusty bread for tea, but it reminds me to get something for the harvest collection at nursery!

Sunday, October 6, 2013

Day 220

The conkers are now in a vase looking gorgeous but they photograph better tumbling out of it on its side.

Saturday, October 5, 2013

Day 219

Helen and I went for a walk this afternoon and collected some conkers.

Day 218

B and I went out for cake today. We were really hungry, so they were quickly devoured before I even thought to get the camera out!

Day 217

It's taken a long time to finish Miss Marjoribanks, but today I arrived at Chapter the Last. Loved that. (I'm pleased I went the distance with Miss M; I really enjoyed the third volume!)
