There are days you just can't wait to be over. And that's fine. But when one of those days rolls into the next and the next and you find yourself wishing the weeks away? That's not fine. So, this week I've made a real effort to fill up on some good stuff every day - a Bible chapter every morning and some of my book before bed. None of the externals have changed - a teething baby feeling poorly after her immunisations, an energetic toddler, a workloaded husband, a bad back etc etc. But I've been stronger, more peaceful, found more joy and been a little bit more patient!

September
Here are some moments from my September...
Spending time with the scrumptious Z; playing with bubbles ...
and making Lego cars.
W and I went walking, celebrating Rosh HaShana; eating apple dipped in honey as a symbol of the sweetness of God's blessing on the year to come.
We topped off the month by marking 3 months of marriage by sharing a fruity breakfast, exploring a Museum of Astronomy and eating lunch at a little place Helen showed me last year.

Day 180
We did it! The Gromit Trail is complete; after today's 10-hour stint, we've got all 80 Gromits! During the hunt, we popped into this church which was very traditionally Anglican with the addition of these gorgeous shocks of colour. Here's Helen, looking at the prayer requests and thank Yous.
PS - Yesterday's nail varnish was actually blue, not black. Just FYI!

Day 106
I've spent chunks of today praying and processing. Earlier, I'd got the tripod out and popped the camera in. While I was writing, as you see, it was looking down on me and I thought, hey, here's my day for you! God being glorious; loving to hear what I have to say, loving to speak to me too. Also, you've probably spotted my new book! It was a birthday gift from my Gran. I'm really enjoying it, hoping that I'll soon understand the sciency-bits(!) and my photos will truly go 'Beyond Snapshots'. Beyond into excellence, I hope.

Day 44
The view from Wandsworth Bridge at 8 o'clock this morning. We're in London for a conference and were on our way for a spot of breakfast before we got to church. All I have to say today is that God is so kind. I have found myself thinking over the last few months that He is not faithful, because that is how it looks and it's certainly how it feels. I have said sorry to Him for that because I know that He is faithful, but I was not expecting just how faithful He was going to be this weekend!
Not only did He clearly speak to me and give me things to tell other people that gave encouragement and direction, but He spoke to them about me. He has been slowly and certainly putting things in place and in order over months and months so that this weekend He could show me the problem, put it right and lift me up. He truly is the good Shepherd and, although I often don't like - actually, sometimes hate - the path He chooses, there always always always comes the point where I go "Oh, that's why. This was the better path."
